Building Information Modeling
BIM - What does it mean?
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a combination of technologies, processes, and policies, which enables multiple stakeholders in the construction value chain to collaboratively plan, construct and operate a building virtually. The virtual representation of the entire building and its management processes from planning to operation is called a BIM model.
The BIM-model consists of different building products, systems and building materials, so-called BIM objects. BIM objects are digital building blocks, which together result in a BIM model.
BIM objects combine geometric information, like dimensions, parametrizations, collision bodies, connectors as well as other forms of visualizations with descriptive product information.
Descriptive product information can be for example classification characteristics, manufacturer information, material information or performance data, such as wind loads and U-values for doors.
Due to the information variety, the BIM model can be used for different purposes, such as cost estimates, collision simulations, quantity determinations, construction process simulations, scheduling and much more before the building is physically built.
This results in enormous digitalization potentials for all stakeholders along the construction value chain.
Our BIM solutions
We support developments in the field of BIM by providing our customers with information of our products in form of BIM objects. We developed a configurator which enables our customers to configure and download the objects in different CAD-formats.
Here you can directly configure your BIM object in your required format:
