Scheveningen Tram Depot: 18 Folding Doors in The Hague, Netherlands
A historic depot reopens after around two years
Since 1905, Scheveningen Tram Depot has been an integral part of public transport in the Dutch city of The Hague. As HTM’s oldest tram depot, it has a long history – and following its extensive modernisation, it once again plays an important role in the city’s tram network.
SCHNEIDER Torsysteme supplied 18 AL602F aluminium folding doors for the refurbished tram hall. The doors open inwards and feature a cut-out for the overhead contact wire. Aluminium panels alternate with insulated glazing. Four doors also incorporate a wicket door. The powder-coated finish in RAL 7039 Quartz Grey complements the depot’s architecture.
Following a closure of around two years, the depot reopened in January 2026. Since then, trams serving routes 9, 11 and 17 have once again operated from this historic site.
We thank HTM, Alpha Deuren Nederland and everyone involved in the project for their trust and cooperation.
